WRITER'S BLOCK
Writer's Block: a psychological inhibition preventing a writer from proceeding with a piece
courtesy of: Merriam-Webster.Com
We know that Inspiration can only go so far; and that every now and then, writers need a little prompting - a word or a phrase to get the creative juices flowing again.
Prompt-a-Day keeps Writer's Block at bay!
PROMPT OF THE DAY
Prompts:
Nov 5--English Rose
Nov 6--The paint on your hands
Nov 7--marionette
Nov 8--Lost & Found
Nov 9--The Black Balloon
Nov 10--my backpack
Nov 11--Silence in the Night
Nov 12--All the colours of light
Nov 13--fighting dreamer
Nov 14--Bulletin Surprise
Nov 15--Pillars like one-legged giants
Nov 16--rational feelings
Nov 17--Paper Roses
Nov 18--head lost
Here's a fun exercise if you have writer's block (or just want to write more!): pick a word (you can use a dictionary of you need to) & a number. then using that word, search for a deviation on dA & the number of deviation you picked, write about. Create a story around the image, describe it, whatever, just get your words out!
For example.
Word: "Magnate"
Number: 13
Image: medievalcommunity.deviantart.c…
I would probably end up writing a short story about the two people and the dog.
note: If you post your piece, please link back to the image that inspired you! And let the deviant know you've written something about their piece & where they can find it!
Starting Date: Thursday, Nov 4
*Ending Date: Wednesday, Nov 18
*The prompts will be changed sometime in the early AM (any time between 12:01am - 10:00am Central), so be sure to get those submission in!
Deviation Length
1000 word limit on Prose pieces
No limit on Poetry pieces
*Author's Note: Far be it for us to staunch creativity when it gets to flowing, but for the sake of the club members and other readers to grace our pages, we ask that deviants keep to the aforementioned guidelines. Not everyone wants to read a 50,000 word novel in one sitting. (That's for NaNoWriMo in November!)
SUBMITTING
To submit your piece - send a NOTE to Prompt-A-Day with:
"Prompt: <enter prompt here>" in Subject line

If you see something that strikes your Muse's fancy, but we've already done it, still feel free to tell us about it! We'd still love to read it!

Winter Break
Dear Watchers,
Again, apologies for being so inactive. With luck, we will have a few prompts to hand out in early to mid January.
Think you have a good prompt, or one you really like? Please submit it! Just send us a note with "prompt idea" in the subject line.

A note to all our watchers
INTRODUCING ...Prompt-A-Day (https://www.deviantart.com/prompt-a-day) was inspired by #FlashLit Chatroom.
~:EDIT:~
November 3, 2009
To our watchers: We are extremely sorry about the halt in prompts (again ^^;), but we've had real-life rear its head and have had to deal with that, along with a slight miscomunication. I'm going to try to keep the prompts going as best I can.
Please hang in there! We want the club to continue.

How it works in the chat room is this:

THE PANTHEON
The Founders want to open Prompt-A-Day (https://www.deviantart.com/prompt-a-day) to the DeviantART community as a whole, but also desire to acknowledge those deviants who grace their pages on a regular basis. To this end, they've created The Pantheon.
The Pantheon consists of three levels: Inspiration's Echelon, Faithful Followers, and the Regal Regulars.
Each level has minimum requirements, and benefits specific to that level. REQUIREMENTS AND BENEFITS SUBJECT TO CHANGE

:bulletyellow: First up on our list - The Pantheon
Because there is only one set of submission records, jleighbean (https://www.deviantart.com/jleighbean) has decided to update The Pantheon page on a weekly basis. She had been attempting to update it on a daily basis, but it was getting tough for her to keep up. We've had so many submissions to our club, aft

is it let your innocence "breath", or "breathe"?
